This week our girls had their debut meet at the annual St. Ignatius Jim Connelly Invite out at our conference course at Lewis University in Romeoville. We had 7 girls in our varsity race, most of them seniors.... Julianne Billote, Hannah Ruddy, Lianna Vego, Emma Ciaccio, and Amari Harris. Julianne finished first for this group of girls at 22:21, and they all raced hard. Amari Harris made her debut as a xc runner hanging tough in the 3-mile race on a rugged course. Rounding out this squad was top team finisher Heather Sledzinski at 22:16, and fellow junior, Natalie Scalamera. The frosh/soph team had a great day finishing with an impressive 2nd place behind much larger 3A St. Ignatius. Katie Gertsen finished first for our squad and for the race out in front from beginning to end coming across the line at 20:53. Following Katie were Katie Peters, Audrey Kekstadt, newcomer Anna Carrigan, Diana Maimonis, and Olivia Rovansek. Katie Squared and Audrey Kekstadt all received awards for finishing in the top 10 for that race. Our management team of Mykaella Pangilinan, Swarnika Sampat, and Maggie Connelly took care of the team behind the scenes.
