Congratulations to sophomore Jack Angus for being named Bronco Artist of the Month for April. Jack was selected for the honor by art teacher and Fine Arts Department Chair, Ms. Stephanie Kuecker. "Jack really proves that he is not only a talented baseball player, but has talent in art too!" said Ms. Kuecker. "This was my first year with Jack as my student, so I did not expect to see such natural talent. He has a good eye for placement, color, and neatness."

Jack has discovered a love for drawing, in particular, and has won several contests already. He believes that drawing is where he really shines as an artist. "It does not matter what it is - people, portraits, landscaping, cartoon, pop, etc.," he said. "I usually like to find images to draw or picture things to draw as well." He credits his diligence in practicing his craft for his success.

"Ms. Kuecker inspires me greatly to create," he said of his teacher. "She is a great teacher who is always positive and she knows how to bring out the best in everyone. She inspired me with all of the challenging projects she assigned this semester. Her personality inspires me to create art and continue it further in my life." Although he has not yet chosen his direction after high school, Jack is currently considering a career in art. "My parents think that I have a gift in drawing and art and they believe that I should further my career in some type of art major," he said. "I think it would be a pretty cool to continue with my art in college!"

Jack is proud to have his artwork featured in the hallway this month. "Being picked for Artist if the Month was surprising," said Jack who has been honing his craft since the ripe age of two. "I liked doing the different assignments and projects in the class, but I never thought I would win Artist of the Month with the amount of great artists in this school. It's a great accomplishment and I'm glad that I was chosen."

"Jack is a good example when expressing that you can have fun, and still create technically strong work," adds Ms. Kuecker. " I look forward to seeing Jack expand his talents over his next two years at Montini."
