Periodically local colleges, foundations and businesses offer educational events for high school students to explore and learn more about a specific field or interest of study. Please see below for the most current opportunities.

Earn 3 University Credits and Learn Russian For Free This Summer!
Lewis University is excited to offer incoming high school sophomores through incoming juniors an intensive 4-week instruction program in Russian. Students will earn 3 university credits for participation; no tuition costs required.

STARTALK is part of a federal initiative designed to expand foreign language education, specifically in under-taught but critical languages. Note: This four-week program is intensive. Therefore, it cannot be combined with other commitments (e.g. full-time job, athletic activities) since they may interfere with your participation and consequently affect your grade.

Who is eligible?

  • High School students: rising 10th, 11th and 12th graders

  • Lewis University students: incoming freshman, rising sophomores and juniors Note: Only those without prior exposure to Russian will be accepted into the program
