Homecoming 2009: Friday, October 2nd Under the
Lights Join us for Homecoming this year! We will cheer on the
Broncos against the Hurricanes of Marian Central Catholic. Varsity kicks
off at 7:30 PM. Visit the Alumni Endzone tent and receive vouchers for
food at the concession stand and let the kids play in the moonjump
and receive their Bronco tattoos! After the game, we will head into
the cafeteria for pizzas, beer and pop. Come see the changes in
the campus and reconnect with old
friends!
Calling all Alumni from the
Classes of 1984, 1989, 1994 and 1999! Your
reunions are two weeks away! Have you registered yet? These classes will
each have a reunion on Saturday, October 3rd at various locations. Go to

NHS
Chooses Officers The National Honor Society (NHS) of
Montini Catholic High School has a year of excitement and service ahead of
them! Colin McGregor, President, is from Downers Grove. He is
a high honor senior who is a member of the Boys Tennis Team, Soccer Team,
and the 5th-in-State Math Team. Colin participates in the Jazz Band,
Drama Club, Set Crew, Yearbook, and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society).
Alysse Cepeda, Vice President, is from Lombard. She is a high honor
senior who serves also as Co-President of the French National Honor
Society. Alysse is a member of the Drama Club, French Club, Spanish
Club, Set Crew, Thespian Society, and Yearbook. Alysse participated
as a school cheerleader. Last year, she earned the VFW Voice of Democracy
Award. John Konopacz, Treasurer, is from Elmhurst . He is a high
honor senior who also is a member of the Boys Football Team and Track
Team. John participates in Liturgical Choir, Chamber Singers, Drama
Club, Math Club, and Math Team. He is also a member of Mu Alpha Theta
(Math Honor Society). Jessica Brady, Public Relations Officer, is from
Downers Grove. She is a high honor senior and is also the Treasurer
of the Spanish Club. Jessica is on the Girls Basketball Team, Cross
Country Team, Volleyball Team and Track Team. She is a member of the
Spanish National Honor Society, Drama Club, Student Government, and a
Student Ambassador for the school. Kevin Dailey, Secretary, is from
Downers Grove. He is a high honor senior and involved in the Boys
Football Team, Basketball Team, and Track Team. Kevin is a member of
the Spanish Club. Samson Berhane, the Sargent-at-Arms, is from
Lombard. Samson is a member of the Boys Football Team, Track Team,
and Intramural Basketball. Samson is a member of the Computer Club,
Drama Club, French Club, Math Team, Set Crew, Yearbook, and is on the
Executive Board of Student Government. He is a member of the French
National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society). The
National Honor Society Moderators are Teachers Gerard Marcoux (Math) and
Nancy Formanski (English).

Homecoming Court Announced Montini
Catholic seniors chose this year's Homecoming Court to be the following
seniors: Katie Coleman, Langan Jenkins, Najwa Kashow, Allysa Lewis, and
Kathryn Ryan. The theme this year is "Hollywood Glamour." Katie Coleman is
an honor senior from Glen Ellyn . She is a member of Montini's
Social Justice Club and Intramural Football. Katie also cheers for
the Super CDA Cheerleading. Langan Jenkins is an honor senior from Lombard
. She is a member of the Broncette's Pom and Dance Team, as well as
the Intramural Football Team. Najwa Kashow is an honor senior from
Naperville . She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish
National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Drama Club, and the 5th-in-State
Math Team. Allysa Lewis is an honor senior from Downers Grove . She
is a member of the Tennis Team and the Soccer Team. Allysa is also a
member of the Drama Club. Kathryn Ryan is an honor senior from
Lombard. She is a member of the Drama Club, Environmental Club, and Spanish Club.
Kathryn also competes in Pageants.
Girls
Run Their Way to First Place Montini Catholic High
School's Girls Cross Country Team has been training hard this fall; last
weekend it all paid off when the top seven runners competed in the Peoria
Woodruff Cross Country Invitational Girls AA Race and took first place as
a team! The Broncos took first in a competition with 40 other
teams. The girls who are members of this first place team: Kelly
Boyd, Claire Smego, Ericka Laviste, Gianna Gentile, Theresa Connelly,
Stephanie Kaefer, Theresa Weber, and Becka Farrell. Three Broncos
earned medals. Ericka Laviste finished in 8th place, Theresa
Connelly finished in 13th place, and Gianna Gentile finished in 29th
place. The Broncos finished in First Place with a total score of 176
points, while second place (Yorkville High School) was in second place
with 222 points. Seniors Jessica Brady and Theresa Weber are leading
the Lady Bronco Runners through this year's meets as Captains. Jessica
Brady is a high honor senior from Downers Grove. When she is not
running, she is the Treasurer for the Spanish Club, the Public Relations
Officer for National Honor Society, a Student Government member, and a
Student Ambassador for the school. Jessica is also a member of the
Drama Club and the Girls Track and Field Team. Theresa Weber is a high
honor senior from Westchester. In addition to leading the Cross
Country Team, she is a Yearbook Editor, Spanish Club Coordinator of
Programs, a Student Government Class Representative, and a Student
Ambassador for the school. Therese is also a Member of the
5th-in-State Math Team, Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), the Spanish
National Honor Society, the Drama Club, and she is a Chamber Singer and a
Member of the Girls Track and Field Team.
Join Us for a Glass of Gratitude Montini
Catholic will host its 3rd Annual "Gratitude In A Glass" Wine Gala on
November 13th, 2009 at Pazzo's 311 in Chicago, beginning at 7:00 pm.
The event's proceeds go toward the Endowment Fund, which enhances faculty
benefits/compensation and financial aid offerings for student families who
apply for consideration. You will enjoy a night full of several wine
tasting stations that compliment adjacent food stations, a silent auction
with a wine theme, and musical entertainment. We will be honoring faculty
members Nancy Mack, who is celebrating her 40th Anniversary at Montini, as
well as Kathy Filipiak and Jim Izzo, who are celebrating their 35th
Anniversary at Montini Catholic. All reservations should be in by Friday,
November 6th. If you would like to purchase a ticket, donate a
sponsorship, or have any questions in regards to this event, please
