In
Memoriam... We are saddened by the passing of Mrs.
Patricia Marks, who was a member of the Montini Catholic counseling office
for many years. The Marks family have asked that donations be made to
Montini Catholic in lieu of flowers. Please keep the Marks family in
your prayers.
Senior Bronco Earns Perfect ACT Score Montini
Catholic High School senior, David Pankiewicz (Lombard), was one of only
38 students in the state of Illinois to achieve a perfect score of 36 on
his ACT exam. This makes David one of only 268 students in the
United States and abroad to score the highest possible composite
score! This national test took place in April of this
year. Less than one-tenth of 1% of students earn this top
score! David is a high honor senior and is one of the top two ranked
students in the senior class. David is a member of the 5th-in-State
Math Team, the President of Drama Club, the Vice President of Mu Alpha
Theta, a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor
Society, Campus Ministry, Thespian Society, and a Lasallian Youth Group
member. He is on the Executive Board of Student Government, an
editor for the Bronco Rambler Newspaper, and is a Eucharistic Minister for
the school.

Montini Faculty and Staff Gain
Service Hours On
Thursday, August 13th, 2009 over 40 members of the Montini Catholic
Faculty and Staff, including school Principal, Maryann O'Neill, and school
President, Jim Segredo, went to Aurora's "Feed My Starving Children"
Volunteer Center. At this center, groups put together highly nutritious
meals for severely malnourished children. The meals are distributed
to starving children in over 55 countries around the world. This
service outreach trip was sponsored by the Montini Catholic Lasallian
Educators group. Each individual packaged meal will feed seven
children! This service has saved many lives, and it continues to do
so with each shipment. The meal bags contain chicken, vegetables,
soy and rice. After spending two hours packing food, all the
volunteers had the opportunity to taste the food that was being packaged
and sent over. Before leaving, as is custom with all their
shipments, Montini Catholic High School faculty and staff prayed over
their shipment for hopes of a safe and successful
delivery.
Lady
LAX Team Welcome New Coaches Montini Catholic High School
welcomes Virginia Kosenkova and Michelle Sebastian as the new Head Varsity
Girls Lacrosse Coach. The Lady Broncos were Conference Champions the
last two years in a row under the coaching of Mark Sullivan. This
year, Mark Sullivan will step down as Head Coach and assist Michelle and
Virginia as Head Coaches. Virginia Kosenkova has played lacrosse for
eighteen years, including four years at the University of Maryland Club
Lax, where she earned her Bachelors Degree. Virginia has coached
Lakeshore Lacrosse Select for three years, where she coached over twenty
Montini players and starters. Virginia then joined Head Coach Michelle
Sebastian at Hinsdale Central as the Assistant Varsity Coach, where she
spent three years coaching. Michelle Sebastian played lacrosse for
Vanderbilt University, where she received the Commodore Award for the
team. Michelle was the Head Varsity Girls Lacrosse coach at Hinsdale
for 4 years. As Head Coach the team won 3rd place her first, third,
and fourth year, but the program took the State Championship during her
second year coaching (the same year Virginia joined her as Assistant
Coach). Michelle started the Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association
(IGLA) which gives girls a chance to play lacrosse in the 3rd through 8th
grade. "We are so excited to build a new lacrosse dynasty at
Montini. Go Broncos!" commented Michelle on the upcoming
season.
