Homecoming 2009: Friday, October 2nd Under the
Lights Join us for Homecoming this year! We will cheer on the
Broncos against the Hurricanes of Marian Central Catholic. Varsity kicks
off at 7:30 PM. Visit the Alumni Endzone tent and receive vouchers for
food at the concession stand and let the kids play in the moonjump and get
their Bronco tattoos! After the game, we will head into the cafeteria
for pizzas, beer and pop. Come see the changes in the campus and
reconnect with old friends!

Alumni from the Classes of 1984, 1989, 1994 and 1999! Your reunions are two weeks away! Have you registered yet?

Freshmen Placement Exam Scholars
Montini Catholic High School offers an Academic Scholarship
to the incoming freshman students who earn the top 10 scores on the
Placement Exam each January, and who enroll at Montini Catholic High
School for the upcoming school year. This academic scholarship is
Montini Catholic's commitment to excellence for its academic
program. Each recipient of this scholarship receives a one-year
$1,000 scholarship. Rebekah Ernat is a Sacred Heart School Alum from
Lombard. She is an editor for the Bronco Rambler Newspaper, a member
of the French Club, and the Math Club. She plans to be on the
Montini Math Team, the Girls Lacrosse Team, and is currently a member of
Obscure Sports. Rebekah earned First Honors during her time at
Sacred Heart School. Joe Koelle is a Visitation Alum from Elmhurst.
He is a member of the Boys Cross Country Team, Lasallian Youth Group and
Obscure Sports Club. Joe plans to become a member of the Montini
Math Team and the Boys Track and Field Team. Charles Long is a St. Pius X
Alum from Lombard. He is a member of the Boys Football Team, and
will try out for the Montini Boys Baseball Team and Wrestling Team.
John Palasek is a St. Michael's School Alum from Wheaton. Joe is a
member of the Boys Football Team, the Lasallian Youth Group, and the
Spanish Club. He is wants to be a member of the National Honor
Society and the Boys Basketball Team. Catherine Pinas is an Our Lady of
Peace Alum from Darien. Catherine is a member of the Girls
Volleyball Team, and the Yearbook Club. She hopes to be a member of
the Girls Basketball Team, Soccer Team, and the Montini Math Team.
Catherine achieved high honors at Our Lady of Peace. Stefan Shover is a
St. Joseph Alum from Downers Grove. He is a member of the Boys
Football Team, the Computer Club, and the Debate Club. Stefan hopes
to be a member of the Boys Track and Field and the Math Team. He
achieved high honors while at St. Joe's. Theresa Versaci is a Christ the
King Alum from Lombard. She is a member of the Girls Volleyball
Team, the Drama Club, Math Team, and Student Government. Kyle Walter is a
Jefferson Junior High Alum from Woodridge. He is a member of the
Debate Team at Montini Catholic.
Boys
Soccer Team Chooses Their Leaders The Montini Catholic
High School Varsity Boys Soccer Team has chosen their 2009 Team
Captains. The three captains are excited to lead the team to victory
throughout the season. Alexander Carpanzano is a high honor senior from
Glen Ellyn. When he is not leading the soccer team, Alexander is a
member of the Intramural Football Team. Julien Milcent is high honor
senior from Lombard. Besides soccer, he is also involved in Boys
Volleyball, Math Team, French Club, Chamber Singers, Drama Club, French
Club, and Liturgical Choir. Robert Moore is a high honor senior from
Westchester. Robert is also involved in Baseball, Student
Government, and is a member of the National Honor Society. He earned
All-Academic Conference for both Soccer and Baseball.
Broncos Honored for AP Scores Last May,
81 Montini Catholic students completed a total of 137 challenging Advanced
Placement exams finishing with 16 perfect scores (5 points) in seven
different subjects! At Montini Catholic, the AP students recorded 84
scores of 3 points or greater, earning college credit at most Universities
or Colleges. Advanced Placement classes are directed to students at
the junior and senior levels. Montini Catholic encourages sophomores
to take the AP World History test to prepare them for rigorous thinking
that is required for these AP tests. In this year's report, 19 of
these students were sophomores! From Montini Catholic's Class of
2009,Christopher Senese (Lombard- Valedictorian) and Paul Kaefer
(Lombard), achieved "AP Scholar Status with Distinction," which means they
earned a 3 on five or more Advanced Placement tests. Students can achieve
"Honors AP Scholar Status" if they earn 3 or higher on four or more
exams. This year, Montini had 6 students achieve "Honors AP Status."
Students can achieve AP Scholar Status if they earn 3 or higher on three
or more exams. This year, Montini Catholic had 6 students achieving
AP status.
