Football Reaches the Playoffs for the 18th Year in a
Row Come cheer on the
Broncos in their first game of the 18th consecutive season that the team
has made it to the playoffs! The Broncos will take on the Spartans of St.
Francis this Saturday, October 31st, at 2 PM at West Chicago High School.

Join Us for a Glass of Gratitude Montini Catholic will host its 3rd Annual “Gratitude In A Glass”
Wine Gala on November 13th, 2009 at Pazzo’s 311 in Chicago, beginning at
7:00 pm. The event’s proceeds go toward the Endowment Fund, which
enhances faculty benefits/compensation and financial aid offerings for
student families who apply for consideration. You will enjoy a night full
of several wine tasting stations that compliment adjacent food stations, a
silent auction with a wine theme, and musical entertainment. We will be
honoring faculty members Nancy Mack, who is celebrating her 40th
Anniversary at Montini, as well as Kathy Filipiak and Jim Izzo, who are
celebrating their 35th Anniversary at Montini Catholic. All reservations
should be in by Friday, November 6th. If you would like to purchase a

National Merit Scholars Named
Montini
Catholic High School is proud to announce that seniors David Pankiewicz
(Lombard) and Kaitlin Maggiore (Lombard) have been named Commended
Students in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program. These
scholastically talented seniors have earned a Letter of Commendation from
Montini Catholic and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).
National Merit Commended Students are named based on a nationally applied
index score. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation
are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. We are also
proud to announce that senior Samson Berhane (Lombard) has been named a
2010 National Achievement Program Outstanding Participant. Samson is
among some 3,100 students in the National Achievement Scholarship
Program being referred to U.S. colleges and universities. David Pankiewicz
is a high honor senior from Lombard. He is one of the top two ranked
students in the senior class. David is a member of the 5th-in-State
Math Team, the President of Drama Club, and the Vice President of Mu Alpha
Theta (Math Honor Society). David is a member of the National Honor
Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Campus Ministry, Thespian
Society, and a Lasallian Youth Group member. He is on the Executive
Board of Student Government, an editor for the Bronco Rambler Newspaper,
and is a Eucharistic Minister for the school. Kaitlin Maggiore is a high
honor senior from Lombard. She is a member of the National Honor
Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor
Society). Kaitlin is a Chamber Singer and is involved in the Girls’
Softball Team, Drama Club, Spanish Club, Math Club, Thespian Society, as
well as the 5th-in-State Math Team. Samson Berhane, the Sargent-at-Arms,
is from Lombard. Samson is a member of the Boys Football Team, Track
Team, and Intramural Basketball. Samson is a member of the Computer
Club, Drama Club, French Club, Math Team, Set Crew, Yearbook, and is on
the Executive Board of Student Government. He is a member of the French
National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society).

Musicians Shine in Performances
On
Sunday, October 18th, 2009, the Montini Catholic Music Department
presented their Fall Concert, Directed by Music Teacher, Stacy
Sager. The event began with the Freshmen Women’s Chorale then
followed by Accafellas, Jazz Band, Sophomore Women’s Chorale, and Varsity
Choir. The show continued with another performance by the Jazz Band,
then Chamber Choir and Combined Choirs performance. It was a wonderful day
with a packed audience!
