Athletic
Director Don Riley to Retire Montini Catholic High
School’s Athletic Director, Don Riley, will retire after twenty-six years
of service and dedication to Broncoland! In Don’s first 10 years at
Montini Catholic, he had the opportunity to coach football, baseball, and
was the Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach. Don’s efforts are felt by
everyone from the Principal and the President to the Teachers and the
Students. Don plans to enjoy his retirement, traveling frequently,
particularly spending extended time in San Diego. “I see a great
amount of golf in my future,” Don says with a big smile. Don says he
will miss the interaction with the parents of the Booster Club (Parent-Run
Athletic Support Program), the men of the Linesman Club (Organization of
Alumni and Alumni Parents who prepare the football field for game days),
and the Press Box Crew. He said he will also miss the interaction with all
the Suburban Catholic Conference Athletic Directors. Don was asked to sum
up the last 26 years, “…being around the students, and especially
athletics, has kept me in a young state of mind. The friendships
that have been developed inside and outside of the school are truly
special and will remain a priority in my life for the rest of my years,
and I have Montini to thank for that!” To leave a note for Mr. Riley on
