Wrestlers, Girls Basketball and Poms on the Road to State!
The wrestling team had four 1st place finishers, two 2nd place finishers and two 3rd place finishers at Individual State last weekend. Now the team is onto dual team sectionals tonight at Oak Park River Forest High School. If the team wins, they will be headed to Bloomington this weekend for the State Championship. The Girls Basketball team won the Montini Regional and will continue on in the Nazareth Sectional tonight. If the Lady Broncos win tonight, they play again on Thursday before heading to the Loyola University SuperSectional. The Poms will head to Team Dance Illinois's State Championships in Peoria on March 7th. Check the IHSA and TDI websites for more information. Go Broncos!

Mathletes Ranked 3rd in Area
Last Saturday, the Bronco Mathletes took part in the Illinois State Regional Mathematics Competition. The MCHS math team has earned the following:
Algebra II team ranked #9 in the State, #4 in our region
PreCalculus team ranked #3 in the State, #3 in our region
Calculator team ranked #2 in the State, #2 in our region
Frosh/soph 8-person ranked tied #2 in the State, #1 in our region
Junior/Senior 8-person ranked tied #2 in the State, #2 in our region
Frosh/Soph 2-person ranked #3 in the State, #2 in our region
Junior/Senior 2-person ranked tied #7 in the State, tied #2 in our region
Oral team ranked tied #11 in the State, tied #3 in our region
Individual David Pankiewicz '10 was Regional Champion in the Precalculus event. David has been an individual regional champion each of his four years. Overall the team is ranked #3 in the State, #3 in our region. Congrats, Mathletes!

Senior Wrestler Signs to US Naval Academy
Montini Catholic High School senior, Colton Rasche, signed a full scholarship to wrestle with the Naval Academy. Colton is an honor senior from Aurora, who has wrestled for the State Champion Bronco Wrestling program since his freshman year. Colton recently was a State Champ in the 130 weight class.

Montini's Piece of the Olympic Torch
Past Parent Dushan "Duke" Petrovich and Alum Kathleen (Sterritt) Bartels '74 were given the honor to participate in the Olympic Torch Relay in Canada. Duke is currently the President of Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company. Kathleen is Director of the Vancouver Art Gallery and was selected as a torchbearer for her contribution to the visual arts of Vancouver, British Columbia and Canada.

Seniors Receive VFW Awards
The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Lilac Post 5815, of Lombard, presented the Voice of Democracy plaques to Montini Catholic High School students Kevin James and Brian Frank. Kevin James is an honor student from Wheaton, who is a member of the Student Government's Executive Board. Brian Frank is a high honor junior from Woodridge. At Montini Catholic, Brian is a member of the National Honor Society, the Lasallian Youth Group, the Track & Field Team, and Obscure Sports Club. He is also a School Broadcaster, a Eucharistic Minister, and is a participating member of the Bronco Rambler Newspaper Club, Computer Club, Drama Club, and Film Club.

Reps Needed for Upcoming Events
Are you from the class of 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995 or 2000? We are starting to plan your reunions this fall, but we need help! Reps attend a few meetings, plan their reunions and get in contact with classmates.

Are you a golfer? Did you enjoy the Bronco Classic last year? Do you have ideas for contests or prizes? Come help us make this year even better by joining our committee. Sponsorships, auction donations and foursome solicitations are our areas that we work in.
